PAT JUSTICE
ASSISTANT CHANCELLOR FOR DEVELOPMENT AND ASSOCIATE DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS FOUNDATION
Patricia A. Justice grew up in Evanston, Illinois with her parents, brother Paul and sister Kathleen. She received a B.A. in Elementary Education/Psychology in 1972 from Northeastern Illinois University, an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Northwestern University in 1974, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1990.
After completing her undergraduate degree, she served as Director of Alumni Affairs at Northeastern Illinois University, a position she held until 1985. She was awarded a leave of absence in 1974-75 during which time she served as an alumni affairs consultant to Brigham Young University in Laie, Hawaii.
She began her career at the University of Illinois in 1985 as the Director of Campus Relations, with responsibilities for major campus events and special projects. She was promoted to Assistant Chancellor, and in 1991 she became Assistant Chancellor for Development and Associate Vice President of the University of Illinois Foundation.
In her current role, Pat assists in coordinating the fund-raising efforts for the campus which includes coordinating many aspects of the capital. She also directs the personnel and professional development programs. Additionally, she has served as the interim chief development officer in several colleges while retaining her responsibilities as Assistant Chancellor. She also is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Organization and Leadership in the College of Education and has been a guest lecturer in several courses taught at the University.
Her leadership has been recognized with several awards including an Administrative Recognition Award from the American Alumni Council (AAC), an Exceptional Achievement Award for Continuing Education Programs presented by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the Alumni Service Award from Northeastern Illinois University.
In 1996 she received the Joan “ Chad” Skinner Memorial Award for Outstanding Devotion and Service to the Illinois Chapter from the National Office of FarmHouse Fraternity. More recently, the Mother’s Association at the University of Illinois presented her with the 2003 Medallion of Honor. In April 2004 she received honorable mention for the Advisor of the Year Award and in April 2005 she received the Advisor of the Year Award for a fraternity from the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils on campus.
Pat is a frequent volunteer at her church. She also has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Champaign County chapter of the American Cancer Society and the Crisis Nursery. She is an advisor to FarmHouse Fraternity and a member of the Corporation Board Sigma Kappa Sorority.
Pat lives in Urbana with her husband Dick and son William. Her stepdaughter Stasia and stepson Jeremy live with their families in Michigan.
